Rent pedal boats
Tight calves are an advantage on an excursion with a pedal boat: Here you move across the water with pure physical strength. Whether you choose the "racing car", "swan" or "water slide" model is up to you. The good thing about all variants: If you have worked up too much of a sweat pedalling, a jump into Lake Constance will cool you down.
Possible routes include a short loop along the island or in the direction of Bregenz. The pedal boats are also ideal for a picnic on board due to their special stability and spaciousness.
You can rent the pedal boats from the boat rental Sandau near the pier or from the boat rental Hodrius near the railway embankment. Both rental stations can be found in the so-called "Small Lake" behind the Lindau island hall.
Boat charter
The charter offer in Lindau in Lake Constance ranges from small motor boats, which may already be driven without the Lake Constance skipper's licence, to motor and sailing boats and large yachts. Several companies in Lindau offer you the opportunity to charter boats and yachts for your individual trip on Lake Constance.
At the Lake Constance Yacht School you can rent the open sailing boat Efsix or the open lifting keel Sailhorse from half a day. The Lake Constance skipper's licence D or a holiday licence is required for these boats. Bootshaus Lukas rents out the sailing yacht Varianta 44, for which you need the Lake Constance skipper's licence D and also category A (motor).
If you do not have a skipper's licence, you can still hire a boat: Motor boats up to 6 hp as well as electric boats can be rented from Hodrius Boat Hire or Lindau Boat Hire. For those with a driving licence, faster motorboats are also available for hire.
